About the Role:
A leading UK-based healthcare organisation is seeking a Senior Buyer to oversee the procurement of medical products and services across its hospital network. This pivotal role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, and driving value through strategic procurement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead category management for medical products, ensuring competitive and effective sourcing.
* Maintain and enhance supplier relationships, focusing on cost control, quality assurance, and risk management.
* Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support service enhancements and procurement projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven expertise in strategic sourcing and category management, preferably within the healthcare sector.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to develop and execute fact-based negotiation strategies.
* Experience in drafting and managing commercial contracts; basic knowledge of contract law.
* Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal stakeholders to achieve successful commercial outcomes.
* Commercial acumen with a focus on total cost of ownership and delivering added value.
* Experience working within cross-functional teams to drive procurement projects.
