We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Dartford, starting as soon as possible. This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and is passionate about supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning.

As the Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that build on pupils’ early learning experiences while promoting independence, confidence, and a love of learning. You will create a supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and positive learning behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum
* Support pupils transitioning from EYFS to Key Stage 1
* Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
* Use assessment to monitor progress and inform planning
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
* Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
* Be nurturing, organised, and enthusiastic
* Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
* Be reflective, adaptable, and committed to professional development
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
