An established Independent School in Manchester is seeking a warm and skilled Reception Teacher to join its Early Years team on a Part-Time basis from January 2026. The Independent School provides a nurturing setting where the Reception Teacher will be involved in planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and commence classroom practice from January 2026 as the Reception Teacher. As an Independent School, this setting offers small groups, excellent indoor and outdoor provision and targeted CPD for the Reception Teacher. Reception Teacher — responsibilities (Independent School context) The Reception Teacher will lead language-rich continuous provision as the Reception Teacher, deliver systematic phonics as the Reception Teacher, and use careful observation to assess progress as the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will run family workshops and support transition to Year 1; the Reception Teacher will plan resources prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as a Part-Time Reception Teacher. This Part-Time Reception Teacher post provides concentrated teaching windows while still giving the Reception Teacher access to the Independent School’s CPD and coaching programme. What the Independent School offers the Reception Teacher The Independent School offers mentoring, reflective coaching and access to specialist early years training for the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will receive induction in January 2026, join peer observation cycles in January 2026, and benefit from ongoing development beyond January 2026. Working Part-Time, the Reception Teacher will still be fully integrated into phase planning and will receive performance review and support as with Full-Time colleagues. Person specification — Reception Teacher We require a Reception Teacher with QTS/EYTS (or equivalent), proven early years expertise and excellent family-engagement skills. The Reception Teacher must be available for planning sessions before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to teach from January 2026 in a Part-Time capacity as the Reception Teacher.
