With a strong emphasis on system improvements, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking full ownership of multiple finance projects while still being involved in the quarterly consolidation of Management Accounts across our four group companies.
We are looking for a forward-thinking, confident accountant with attention to detail. You will be responsible for overseeing Finance Projects, production of Subsidiary MI Packs, assisting with the budget and forecast, responsible for the firm's financial reporting, and assisting with year-end accounts.
The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing and finalising management accounts, producing financial accounts, and partnering with other areas of the business.
The important work you will be doing:
* Work with the Financial Controller on strategic initiatives, ensuring milestones are achieved
* Enhance financial processes, reporting, and systems to support organisational efficiency
* Quarterly consolidation of Management Accounts across the Group
* Assist in the preparation of Subsidiaries MI Pack
* Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
* Analyse profitability and recovery
* Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
* Involvement in managing the firm's budgeting and reforecast processes
* Assist with statutory reporting including the production of financial statements.
The skills and experience you will bring:
* Excellent working knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of Sage 200
* Methodical, analytical, with good attention to detail
* A team player with a strong work ethic, willing to learn and seek guidance
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Inquisitive with good evidence gathering and problem-solving skills
