Job Description
It is a requirement for Officers to reside within the Avon and Somerset Force area. If you are relocating from outside of the force area, you may be eligible for a relocation allowance of up to £8000.
We are looking for talented, enthusiastic, and passionate Detective Sergeants to join our dedicated investigative teams, mainly focusing on the following areas:
* Core Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) teams – investigating crimes ranging from assaults to attempted murder, tackling threats to life from organised crime groups, and finding missing people at the highest risk of harm.
* Operation Ruby – investigating and prosecuting the most predatory offenders that pose a risk to children, ensuring the voice of the child is heard.
* Operation Bluestone – working with partners to identify, target, and bring to justice perpetrators of Rape and Serious Sexual Offences, while providing outstanding care and support to victims.
Our Chief Constable Sarah Crew is the national lead for sexual violence against women and girls, and our passionate RASSO investigators are leading the way with pioneering offender-based investigations.

What skills and qualifications do you need?
As a leader, you will have the drive, determination, and leadership qualities to ensure your team makes a difference. Candidates should have completed the Investigative Supervisors Development Programme (ISDP).

The salary offered will be equivalent to your current basic salary before allowances.

Location
Our CID teams are based in Bristol (Kenneth Steele House and Concorde House), Bridgwater, and Yeovil. When selecting your preferences, consider these bases, as organizational needs will influence the final placement. Specialist Child Protection and Adult Sexual teams are mainly located in Bridgwater and Kenneth Steele House.
