Summary

Thank you for your interest in the post of Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship which will be based at one of our 6 primary schools or our secondary school. It’s an exciting time to join us on our journey to raise standards of education in the communities we serve. There are a number of roles for this opportunity.

Wage

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

To challenge educational and social disadvantage by supporting the class teacher in order to achieve the highest
possible standards and prepare all our pupils to lead successful lives

* Support the class teacher to plan, deliver and review lessons which are appropriate to the age and ability
of the pupils so as to facilitate progression in pupils’ learning.
* Support the learning of pupils in lessons as directed by the class teacher, including small group teaching and full class cover.
* Work with students with additional needs on a 1:1 basis by preparing resources and planning bespoke
activities
* Facilitate the exceptional progress and well-being of any individual or group of pupils; provide guidance and advice to pupils on educational and social matters.
* Promote and maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and behaviour policy of the school.
* Use formative assessment to adapt teaching and the work of pupils to make sure that learning is proceeding in the right direction and to support that learning.
* Communicate effectively with the class teacher/s and SENCO to share pupils' learning.
* Support pupils during playtime and lunchtime in the playground.
* Contribute towards and maintain high quality displays and an engaging learning environment.
* Support with management of learning resources, including auditing, replenishing and reordering.
* Participate in the school coaching process.
* Support pupils throughout the day by fulfilling pastoral responsibilities.
* Provide first aid and support pupils with medical needs, including maintenance of relevant records and
first aid boxes.
* Provide intimate care (including toileting, as required) in accordance with school policies and procedures.
* Engage fully in the school appraisal process to fulfil personal potential and be able to participate effectively in the implementation of the school’s goals and improvement plan.
* Attend meetings / training and carry out administrative tasks and duties as specified on the school calendar.
* Consistently implement all school policies.
* Contribute to decision-making and consultation procedures.
* Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Headteacher.

* The training will take place at one of our schools, working directly in the classroom.
* There will be off the job time allocated to allow you to complete coursework.
