About the Role
Are you driven by a strong sense of integrity and a passion for safeguarding digital infrastructure? We are looking for a proactive and experienced Cyber/Information Security Lead to join our 3C ICT Shared Services team. In this pivotal role, you will uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and availability across our IT systems, supporting partner councils with professionalism and care.
You will collaborate closely with the Technical Architect and key stakeholders to embed a ‘Secure by Design’ approach, aligned with the UK Government’s Cyber Security Strategy. Your leadership will reflect our commitment to excellence, supporting a culture of accountability and respect while delivering robust, forward-thinking security measures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and review IT security policies and controls
2. Monitor IT systems for threats and vulnerabilities, producing detailed reports
3. Lead forensic investigations and liaise with relevant bodies in the event of breaches
4. Represent 3C ICT at public sector cyber security forums such as WARP and CyberUK
5. Deliver training and raise awareness of cyber security best practices
6. Support disaster recovery planning and ensure systems are patched and compliant
What We’re Looking For
7. Proven experience in a cyber security role with knowledge of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and risk mitigation
8. Relevant qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent
9. Strong technical understanding of network and application security, anti-virus/EDR, SIEM solutions, and vulnerability testing tools
10. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences
11. A collaborative, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving
Desirable Skills
12. Experience with ITIL-based change control, CMDB, and Microsoft technologies
13. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and mobile device management
14. Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and information governance principles.
