About the Role
We now have an opportunity for a Magnet Technician to be part of the team assembling, testing and commissioning of the permanent magnet Dipoles required for the Diamond-II upgrade.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Measuring permanent magnet and electromagnet devices.
2. Carrying out inspection of manufactured items to drawings.
3. Operating overhead cranes and pallet trucks.
4. Setting up the electromagnets to electrical and cooling supplies as required for testing
5. Assembling permanent magnet devices
About You
You will have proven technical experience, not necessarily directly related to the tasks., with a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification, equivalent work experience will also be considered.
You will have the ability to:
6. Understand and interpret mechanical drawings.
7. Carry out a variety of light mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including soldering.
8. Interact with people at all levels.
Experience in this area is desirable:
9. Magnet materials.
10. Producing simple engineering drawings.
11. Compressed air, simple water-cooling circuit, and electrical connections.
