Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing, Chester based, legal firm as they look to recruit an experienced Legal Cashier to join their growing finance team.
Based in Chester, you will work a hybrid model.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Legal Cashier or an experienced Accountant with previous experience working within the legal industry.
Job Duties:
* Maintain accurate client and office ledgers.
* Process all financial transactions including receipts, payments, transfers, and disbursements.
* Ensure compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and anti-money laundering regulations.
* Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
* Manage CHAPS, BACS, and international payments.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with audits.
* Produce daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
* Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
* Raise and process invoices and ensure timely payments.
* Liaise with solicitors, clients, banks, and regulatory bodies.
* Support payroll and petty cash functions where required.
* Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards.
* Complete file closures in accordance with current procedures.
Ideal experience
* Experience in legal finance or bookkeeping.
* Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting procedures.
* Strong Excel and IT skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
* Organised and able to manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive financial data.
* Calm under pressure and deadline-driven.
