Hours and Shift Pattern
Hours: 24 per week
Shift Pattern: 8:00am - 4:00pm
Role Overview
Reporting to the Home Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a varied and engaging programme of activities that promotes independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion for residents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and facilitate meaningful and stimulating activities tailored to residents’ interests, preferences, and individual needs
2. Encourage participation and support residents to maintain independence and choice
3. Manage and maintain activity equipment, materials, and resources within an agreed budget
4. Ensure activities are delivered in line with CQC standards and contribute positively to residents’ quality of life
5. Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues to create an inclusive and welcoming environment
6. Maintain accurate records and activity plans where required
Required Knowledge and Experience
7. Previous experience organising activities within a care setting is desirable
8. Understanding of the interests and activities that support the wellbeing of older people
9. Awareness of health and safety requirements within the workplace
Skills and Attributes
10. Creative and enthusiastic approach with practical skills such as arts and crafts, music, or group activities
11. Ability to motivate, engage, and encourage participation from residents
12. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and coordinate an activity programme
13. Ability to create a positive environment where residents feel comfortable contributing ideas and taking part
14. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
15. Basic IT and computer skills
