Overview
Whānau Āwhina Plunket is the largest service in Aotearoa supporting tamariki under-five and their whānau. We provide clinical support and connect caregivers with services that support holistic health and wellbeing and access to helpful services to form meaningful connections. This role supports the Christchurch East communities and is a hybrid 32 hour per week position, ideally working Monday to Thursday (8 hour days). We can consider flexible arrangements to suit the role and the candidate.
Responsibilities
* Gather insights internally and externally about existing services and identify opportunities in the community.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
* Raise the profile of Whānau Āwhina Plunket at relevant community events.
* Recruit, onboard and communicate with volunteers who run groups, provide in-home support and other initiatives.
About You
At the centre of this role is people—you’ll be able to network both internally and externally and represent the organisation professionally. Basic computer literacy is needed to post and engage with whānau on local social media pages and promote opportunities to prospective volunteers.
While experience in the community field is advantageous, the key is asking the right questions to understand the journey and services needed by parents and caregivers, and having the drive to make it a reality. Ideally you will be well networked across the region and able to hit the ground running with insights and ideas to help move the organisation forward.
Benefits
* Wellbeing schemes including a wellbeing day (proactively protect your wellbeing using part of your sick leave).
* Retail discounts such as Fitness Passport for unlimited access and discounted fitness facilities.
* Programs and training to build cultural competence to contribute to goals most effectively.
