Intro to the PositionWe are seeking an experienced PLASMA and Press Brake Leader to oversee and lead the operation of our CNC Plasma machines and Press Brake equipment within our large-scale manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with CNC Plasma machinery and demonstrate strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate, timely, and high-quality fabrication of components to meet both standard and custom orders.
Daily Tasks & Responsibilities
* Operate, monitor, and maintain two CNC Plasma machines, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
* Operate the Press Brake machine for accurate bending and shaping of metal components.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical or operational issues with machinery promptly.
* Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all relevant machinery.
* Manage daily workload to ensure production deadlines are met for both standard stock and custom fabrication orders.
* Lead, support, and train team members in safe and efficient machine operation practices.
* Ensure product quality and dimensional accuracy meets company and industry standards.
* *Use ProNest nesting software for cutting plan optimization (experience preferred).
* Collaborate with the Production Manager and other departments to align production priorities.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company safety policies.
Skills Required
* Proven experience operating CNC Plasma machines and Press Brake equipment.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine functions and processes.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members.
* High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and precision.
* Experience with ProNest or similar nesting software (advantageous).
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Effective communicator with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
* Forklift Licence (essential).
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing software/systems.
