Key Responsibilities
* CMM Programming & Calibration: Program, calibrate, and operate coordinate measuring machines to inspect high-precision machined components, ensuring absolute accuracy and repeatability.
* Engineering Interpretation: Thoroughly analyse engineering drawings, specifications, and complex Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
* Comprehensive Inspection: Perform both automated CMM routines and traditional manual inspections using high-precision measuring equipment to verify tight-tolerance parts.
* Quality Documentation: Generate first-class First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, compile Certificates of Conformity, and maintain flawless component traceability records.
* Collaborative Problem Solving: Partner closely with CNC production teams to resolve quality discrepancies, support root-cause analysis, and champion continuous improvement within the department.
Required Skills & Experience
* Expert CMM Programming: Proven, hands-on experience in CMM programming and calibration, which is a critical requirement for this role.
* Software Proficiency: Strong capability using PC-DMIS software (experience with alternative CMM software will also be highly valued).
* GD&T Expertise: A robust understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to interpret intricate engineering drawings.
* Precision Background: Demonstrated experience inspecting tight-tolerance components within a high-precision subcontract machining environment.

Desirable Extras
* Familiarity with quality management systems such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
