Role Description
Stockport Truck Centre is expanding our workshop team and we're looking for a proactive Trailer Technician to support our busy Dukinfield and Bredbury depots. This role offers the chance to work on a varied fleet of commercial trailers, where no two days are the same. From routine servicing to advanced diagnostics, you'll be a key part of keeping our customers on the road.
Duties
* Routine servicing, inspections, and repairs to DVSA standards
* Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, then carrying out effective repairs
* Replacing or repairing components including brakes, suspension, and lighting systems
* Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
* Working safely and efficiently to workshop targets
Required Certification & Experience
* Previous background as a Trailer Technician, HGV Fitter, or similar role
* Sound knowledge of trailer systems and mechanical components
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team
* Welding/fabrication ability an advantage but not essential
