We are recruiting for skilled MIG Welders to join a market-leading manufacturing business based near Ilkley, West Yorkshire. These opportunities are available on a permanent or long-term contract basis, with a choice of days, earlies, or lates. This role suits a MIG Welder who enjoys fabrication work, high standards, and consistent long-term workload.
As a MIG Welder, you will be working with mild steel plate from 3mm to 10mm, producing bespoke fabricated assemblies to tight tolerances. The MIG Welder role offers excellent working conditions, multiple shift options, and flexibility for both permanent staff and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
MIG welding and fabricating mild steel components to specification
Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and welding symbols
Inspect completed work for accuracy, size, and finish
Use cutting tools and hand tools as required
Operate rolling and swaging machinery (training provided)
Move materials safely using overhead cranes and lifting equipmentEssential Skills and Experience
Level 3 Apprenticeship or NVQ in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent)
Proven experience working as a MIG Welder in a manufacturing environment
Strong ability to read engineering drawings
High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and safetyBenefits
£15.00 to £21.90 per hour, depending on experience and shift
Permanent roles or 6-month+ contract options (PAYE or umbrella)
Shift allowance: 10% earlies, 25% lates
4-day week available on late shift, early finish Fridays on others
Overtime paid at 1.5x
