Beyond meetings and dining, The Motorist excels in product launches, brand activations, and corporate showcases, providing an automotive-inspired backdrop that makes every event distinctive.
From seamless planning to premium service, The Motorist delivers professional, unforgettable experiences tailored to each clients brand and vision. The Motorist also hosts a fantastic, one-of-a-kind retail store, a thriving café that comes alive during car events, and a relaxed restaurantMos Kitchenopen seven days a week, along with an on-site garage, bodyshop, and MOT centre.

Role Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Venue Sales Manager drives meeting-room, wedding, and brand event bookings at The Motorist. Youll build new business, nurture repeat clients, and maximise room utilisation by promoting conferences, networking packages, private celebrations, weddings, and brand activation or launch events. This proactive, hands-on role includes venue tours, client meetings, attendance at trade shows and client events, and close collaboration with leadership. Weekend and evening work is essential.

Hours: 40 hours per week over 7 Days

Key Responsibilities
Increase bookings and revenue for meetings, weddings, and brand activations by maintaining a strong sales pipeline and meeting occupancy and profitability targets.
Proactively source and convert leads through networking, outreach, referrals, trade shows, and client events, managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to post-event follow-up.
Collaborate with the General Manager and Finance Controller to develop and refine pricing strategies that optimise room rates and package profitability.
Create tailored packages combining venue hire, catering, décor, branding, AV services, and wedding or brand-launch options, while monitoring competitors to stay distinctive.
Oversee every booking detailpricing, setup, AV, décor, catering coordination, and on-site client toursto deliver seamless events, weddings, and brand launches.
Partner with Marketing, Operations, F&B, and Finance to ensure flawless execution and to develop promotions that fill off-peak slots.
Lead and coach the Meetings, Events & Accounts Administrative Assistant, delegating routine tasks to focus on high-value client interactions.

Skills & Attributes
Proven success in venue, wedding, or brand event sales.
Proactive, persuasive communicator and skilled negotiator.
Strong commercial awareness with experience in pricing and revenue strategy.
Understanding of the automotive world, including dealerships, manufacturers, and car clubs is desirable
Organised and detail-oriented, with a strong customer-service mindset.
Data-driven and collaborative, adaptable to changing priorities.
Able to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours as required.
