About the role
We are currently recruiting for several Mental Health Specialist Support Worker positions at our Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery service in Shropshire. Based in Shrewsbury, you will provide recovery-focused support to individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs as part of a 24-hour CQC-regulated service.
Your responsibilities will include assisting adults with safe medication administration, diet, cooking, shopping, exercise, employment, training, relationships, sleep hygiene, daily activities, appointments, and confidence-building. Our main goal is to support residents in achieving their daily living goals to live independently while managing mental health conditions.
We collaborate closely with the NHS, mental health social workers, advocates, local charities, employment agencies, and families to develop personal support plans and achieve individual goals.

Qualities and skills
* Caring, proactive, and a good listener. Ability to work independently and within a team
* Hobbies or interests that can support our clients in finding their own
* Some experience with mental health and challenging behaviours
* Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office; training can be provided for other skills
* Flexibility, understanding, and a sense of humour
* Willingness to develop personal skills and training
* Understanding of confidentiality and record keeping
* Good timekeeping, reliability, and punctuality
