The Role: Accounts Receivable Assistant
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Assistant to support the credit control and wider finance team. This is an excellent role for an ambitious individual currently studying AAT, a finance-related degree, or CICM, looking to further develop their accounting career.
In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate customer account records, supporting collections activity, and ensuring the smooth processing and reconciliation of customer payments.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
* Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, including outstanding invoices and payment terms.
* Review customer credit limits and payment history.
* Assist with setting up new customer accounts and updating existing accounts.
Invoice Processing
* Process and issue invoices accurately and on time.
* Follow up on outstanding invoices and contact customers to prompt payment.
Payment Reconciliation
* Reconcile payments received against outstanding invoices.
* Identify and investigate discrepancies in payments received.
Debt Recovery
* Assist with recovering overdue accounts.
* Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and agree payment arrangements.
* Escalate unresolved matters to senior credit control staff when necessary.
Reporting
* Prepare reports on aged debt, outstanding receivables, and other key metrics.
* Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvements.
About You
Qualifications (currently studying):
* AAT
* Finance-related degree
* CICM
Essential Experience:
* 1–2 years’ experience in a reputable company within a finance or accounts receivable environment.
