Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital is a leading provider of mental health services, offering specialist care across various disciplines. Our Eating Disorders Unit provides high-quality, evidence-based treatment for patients experiencing complex eating disorders.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our specialist Eating Disorders Unit. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care.
Responsibilities:
Clinical:
* Serve as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician within the MDT.
* Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans.
* Assess referrals promptly with the MDT.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and treatment planning with patients, stakeholders, and carers.
* Chair MDT/CPA meetings, adhering to policies and procedures.
* Ensure timely discharge GP notifications and summaries.
* Contribute to unit governance through expertise and leadership.
* Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals and Managers Hearings, including giving evidence.
* Participate in a non-resident second on-call rota (frequency of 1:8).
Management:
* Provide clinical leadership alongside the Ward Manager.
* Ensure ward compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
* Attend ward governance meetings and contribute to quality initiatives.
* Participate in monthly governance and academic meetings.
* Contribute to case presentations, teaching, audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Post Requirements:
* Must be on the specialist register with CCT/CESR.
* Valid Approved Clinician status.
* Full GMC registration with license to practice.
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
* Committed to ongoing professional development.
* Experience in treating eating disorders and complex psychiatric conditions; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
