Apply for the Technical Product Manager role at WTW.
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our growing engineering organization (headquartered in Reigate, ~300 engineers) developing a wide range of market‑leading InsurTech solutions. You will be part of an exciting phase where we focus on cloud/SaaS solutions, upgrade existing products to new technologies and modern UX, and develop brand‑new applications.
Role Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Product Management team to understand market, competitors, and end‑users, then influence the product vision and feature‑level roadmap.
* Translate the roadmap into a prioritized backlog of user stories for one or two Scrum teams.
* Keep the backlog clean, maintain a clear epic/feature/story hierarchy, triage new requirements or defects, and tag items that qualify for capitalisation or R&D tax relief.
* Plan quarterly release increments, ensuring the upcoming increment is well defined and that functional, non‑functional, research, infrastructure, and service requirements are addressed.
* Continuously re‑prioritise based on product direction, team feedback, value of work, and dependencies.
* Guarantee at least one to two sprints of user stories meet the Definition of Ready, working with QA engineers to set complete acceptance criteria.
* Produce necessary artefacts such as wireframes or UI mockups if required.
* Provide input to sprint planning so the team is familiar with proposed stories beforehand.
* Support the Scrum team during execution, clarifying where needed and mitigating impediments.
* Formally accept or reject user stories once they meet Definition of Done.
* Contribute to internal and external product documentation.
* Keep up‑to‑date with Agile/Scrum best practices, participate in ceremonies, and continuously improve velocity and processes.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager or Product Owner in a SaaS or analytics‑focused B2B environment.
* In‑depth understanding of the Agile software‑development lifecycle in a commercial/production setting.
* Hands‑on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle from concept to productisation.
* Ability to write high‑quality user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage a product backlog.
* Experience working with technical stakeholders (architects, engineers) to define and deliver complex features.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
* High attention to detail and strong quality standards, delivered at pace.
* Comfortable working in a team environment, open to constructive criticism.
* Sharp analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Creative thinker with vision.
Additional Desirable Skills
* Background in Software Development, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
* Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
* Understanding of API design, microservices architecture, or event‑driven systems.
* Experience in B2B enterprise software environments with complex stakeholder landscapes.
* Product‑management certification (CSPO, Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, etc.).
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
