Introduction
A position has become available within the Engineering Team for a Test Engineer to deliver Test solutions to specification, to introduce new products into Production ensuring that customer and TT Electronics specifications are met, using suitable test strategies and solutions are implemented.
Key Responsibilities
1. Introduce new products into Production ensuring that the customer specifications are met.
2. Install equipment as per agreed project / contract review plan.
3. Generate / co-ordinate generation of Test instructions for test stages, prior to production use.
4. Train Test Technicians in the use of equipment and validate competence.
5. Implementation of customer engineering change notes (ECN’s) throughout all stages
6. Monitor yields and improve processes using continuous improvement tools.
7. Monitor and improve product efficiencies and improve where there is opportunity.
8. Provide support to production to help solve diagnostic problems.
9. Generate Preventative Maintenance plans for the test equipment, including calibration.
10. Assist in planned preventative maintenance on various production processes.
11. Meeting health & safety requirements
12. Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct.
13. Liaise with customer design teams to promote viable & maximised test specifications.
14. DFx involvement to support existing and new business opportunities.
15. Implementation of new test solutions that meet both customer & TT requirements by project managing external suppliers.
16. Selection of suitable external suppliers to meet test solution requirements.
17. Monitoring ensuring sub-contractors deliver the test solution as per the agreed delivery date.
18. Quotations for test solutions for new and existing business opportunities, ICT & flying probe only.
19. Carry out reliability testing in line with TTEs procedures.
20. Support Product Engineering team in yield analysis and improvement activities.
21. Advise on new developments in test and test strategies.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Core Requirements
22. Demonstrable experience in a similar/related test discipline.
23. Evidence & examples of core aspects ‘experience’ in a manufacturing environment.
Desireable Skills and Experience
24. Software Development knowledge (Labview, Visual Basic Etc)
25. Understanding of analogue, digital and RF test techniques
26. Strong technical knowledge and able to work with all levels of staff.
27. Past experience in a CEM manufacturing environment
28. Minimum degree in electronics discipline, or 10 years electronics Test Engineering experience.
29. IT skills including Office, CAD viewers etc.
30. Confident Communicator – ability to articulate complex issues at all levels - liaising with customers, colleagues and suppliers.
31. Driving licence, to enable visit to customers and suppliers within the UK.
32. Independent and resourceful – ability to think outside of the box.
33. Security clearance will be required, in this role.
34. Training to be given on flying probe and debug, if there is no experience.
35. Customer focus – acts with the ‘eyes of the customer’ throughout & builds productive working relationships with both internal & external customers.
36. Attention to detail – thorough approach to issues, but with appropriate urgency.

Our Recruitment Process:
49. Shortlisted candidates will be initially interviewed via Microsoft Teams. This will allow you the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about TT, our site and our team. It will also give us the chance to learn more about you and your experience to date. At this point both parties can decide if they would like to continue with the process.
50. Onsite panel interview will be held at the Cardiff site and include a tour of the facility.
