The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Junior Gardener based in West Surrey. This is a long term, self employed position, working approximately 8.00am to 6.00pm, with an hourly rate of £14 to £17 depending on experience. The start date is ASAP. You will work as part of a two person team, supporting the maintenance of a portfolio of private gardens to a high standard. You will typically work across 1 to 3 gardens per day, assisting with a range of garden maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for someone with some gardening experience who is looking to develop their skills further within a professional environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with general garden maintenance across multiple sites Support lawn care including mowing, edging, and basic upkeep Assist with hedge cutting and trimming Carry out weeding of beds, borders, and hard surfaces Support planting of seasonal bedding, shrubs, and bulbs Assist with pruning under supervision Water plants and support irrigation tasks Help maintain clean and tidy working areas Support daily job completion across multiple gardens Work closely with senior gardener to maintain standards Requirements Some previous gardening or outdoor work experience preferred Full UK driving licence essential Ability to work as part of a two person team Own PPE required Willingness to learn and develop horticultural skills Reliable and able to work consistently Skills and Qualities Positive attitude and strong work ethic Willingness to learn and take instruction Good attention to detail Reliable and punctual Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Team player with good communication What's On Offer £14 to £17 per hour depending on experience Long term self employed role Opportunity to develop horticultural skills All tools and equipment provided Work across well maintained private gardens Ongoing, consistent workHow to Apply This role is being recruited by Halmer Group on behalf of our client.
