Job Overview

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology at ABUHB has an exciting opportunity to join our well-established team. We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed individual who is passionate about improving patient care. In return, we can offer excellent support for ongoing training and development in a friendly and well-respected department, with ongoing opportunities to develop specialist clinical expertise.

Main duties of the job

The primary focus of the role will be working to ensure continuity for the patient's journey, playing a key part in their care. You will work as an integral part of a consultant-led team in a range of settings to ensure a high quality, safe service is provided to patients.

Day-to-day duties may include undertaking out-patient clinics for both new and follow-up patients, reviewing patients on the ward before and after their operations, participating in ward rounds and assisting with surgical procedures in theatre. You need to be able to work autonomously to deliver practitioner-led care pathways. You’ll also play a part in departmental audit, research and teaching.

Every day is different, you need the ability to think on your feet, work well under pressure, and communicate with a range of healthcare professionals and non-clinical staff, as well as patients.

This role will suit a registered health care professional with extensive experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and a proven track record of commitment to professional development and innovation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
