Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Weston-super-Mare. In this rewarding position, you will work with children with complex needs and challenging behaviour, helping them access education, develop life skills, and build confidence.

Special Needs Learning Support Assistant
Location: Weston-super-Mare (BS23) North Somerset
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with special educational needs (SEN)
* Assist teachers and the SENCO in developing and delivering tailored learning plans
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
* Support with personal care and physical needs where required
* Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting concerns to appropriate staff
* Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth through positive relationships
* Help children stay engaged and motivated in lessons
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEN or challenging behaviour
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
* Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or childcare (e.g. NVQ, CACHE) are advantageous
