Job Purpose
* An exciting opportunity has arisen to support our sub regional shared ambitions relating to Transport. This role will look to develop the case for better transport connectivity across our sub region, working with existing transport, housing and growth leads to make the case for future investment.
* Our imminent publications will make the case for the role that better transport can have in unlocking our growth ambitions, and this role will be instrumental in informing this as well as developing and taking forward a strategic transport plan for the sub region.
* We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to think and understand issues strategically across the sub-region. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading individual projects, developing transport policy positions and producing reports using transport data, engaging effectively with external partners and building effective relationships to further policy goals.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Working with SLP borough transport leads to provide a clear delivery plan for SLP transport priorities as articulated in SLP growth ambitions document (due to be published May 2025)
* Working with SLP Director and Head of Place and Partnerships to identify sub regional partners to engage with to further SLP strategic transport ambitions
* Working with SLP housing leads to identify cross over between transport and housing ambitions. Providing sub regional oversight on emerging transport opportunities/challenges and engage with TfL on these issues with a view to seeking future funding
* Providing SLP transport strategic response to relevant consultations from government, statutory, private and voluntary bodies.
* Produce a deep dive report on SLP transport data to demonstrate the need for increased investment in transport
* Reinvigorating the case for Crossrail 2 from an SLP perspective, and identifying and working with other partners to make the case
Essential Experience Required
* Experience with IT and Digital processes, seeking to drive digitisation is essential.
Essential Qualification Required
* Relevant technical qualification, e.g., HND/HNC/Degree or significant equivalent experience is essential.

* Working hours: 36 hours per week.
