Join us at Barclays as a Business Response Resilience Lead, where you’ll shape and drive a best-in-class resilience strategy and operational recovery framework. You'll help ensure the bank can swiftly respond to disruptions and protect what matters most—our customers, clients, colleagues, and the market.

To be successful as a Business Response Resilience Lead, you should have experience with:

* Deep business knowledge and experience in 1-2 business areas.
* Experience in Operational Resilience with working knowledge of governance and reporting within a controls and framework environment.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to build a network and form strong relationships to influence and facilitate business decisions.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

* Broad knowledge of industry practices relevant to Business Response planning and Operational Resilience.
* Clear and impactful communication and presentation skills.
* Strong analytical/problem-solving mindset with the ability and willingness to manage issues hands-on in a high-pressure environment.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based in Knutsford/Glasgow.


Purpose of the role

To develop, implement, and maintain an effective resilience strategy and operational recovery planning and incident management framework aligned to industry standards and regulatory expectations, enabling the bank to respond and recover important business services during severe but plausible scenarios, minimizing the impact on customers, clients, colleagues, and the wider market.


Accountabilities

* Socialization and implementation of the resilience strategy and framework across the firm, ensuring compliance with standards and controls.
* Development and enhancement of the resilience, crisis, and incident management framework to uplift recovery and response capabilities.
* Standards and controls enhancement for operational recovery planning and security incident management according to industry practice, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements.
* Provide oversight to the business and technology recovery capabilities, including third-party recovery capabilities, to ensure continuity of Important Business Services.
* Communicate the firm’s resilience position through scorecards and dashboards to enable effective decision-making at the executive level.
* Enhance resilience, crisis management, and incident response capabilities through regular testing to demonstrate the ability to recover within impact tolerance.
* Ensure services and products are built resiliently through the change management process.
* Stay abreast of developments in resilience, regulatory policies, and the emerging landscape.
* Mitigate the impact of incidents by identifying, responding to, and resolving events that threaten the bank’s operations.
* Execute responses to reported incidents and potential threats from various channels.
* Document and analyze past incidents to support preventative measures and process improvements.

* Manage and develop teams, define roles, and plan for future needs.
* Demonstrate leadership behaviors to foster a thriving environment, including listening, inspiring, aligning, and developing others.
* Guide technical direction as a subject matter expert, lead multi-year assignments, and coach less experienced team members.
* Advise stakeholders on impact and alignment, manage risks, and demonstrate accountability for controls.
* Understand organizational functions to contribute to business goals.
* Collaborate across areas, develop solutions through analytical thinking, and build trusting relationships with stakeholders.
