Job Overview
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with mental health challenges? Dorset CAMHS is currently recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to join our Community CAMHS Team in Dorchester and Weymouth. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care and guidance to children, adolescents, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
As a CAMHS Mental Health Support Worker, your duties will include:
* Providing practical, emotional, and clinical support to children and young people accessing CAMHS services
* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised care plans
* Supporting therapeutic group sessions and 1:1 interventions
* Conducting assessments and contributing to care evaluations
* Promoting recovery in home and community environments
* Recording patient information using electronic health systems (Lorenzo EPR/Nerve Centre)
* Maintaining safeguarding awareness and following Trust guidelines
Requirements
Essential:
* Experience supporting children and adolescents with mental health conditions
* Skilled in therapeutic engagement and delivering structured activities
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Good knowledge of safeguarding protocols
* Basic computer literacy
* Care Certificate or NVQ in Health & Social Care
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
* Experience using RiO electronic patient records
* Supervisory or leadership experience
* Previous work in community mental health settings
* Knowledge of mental health legislation or experience making safeguarding referrals
