Business Development Manager - Oxfordshire and Surrounding Region
1. Salary: Between £40-45,000 per annum with an uncapped bonus scheme.
2. Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday - at 8:00am-4:45pm on Friday.

Our client, one of the UK’s most modern and professional vehicle salvage agents/parts recyclers based in Thame, Oxfordshire, is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to grow revenue and strategic partnerships within the vehicle salvage and automotive recycling sector.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the position will initially be predominantly office-based with a view to becoming increasingly remote. You will focus on winning new business, developing long-term relationships with insurers, fleet operators, accident management companies, dealerships, and body repair networks across Oxfordshire and the surrounding region.

Your key responsibilities will include:
4. Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the vehicle salvage and automotive recycling market.
5. Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation through to contract close.
6. Meet and consistently deliver against agreed targets.
7. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, including insurers, leasing companies, fleet operators, local authorities, and repair networks.
8. Act as the main commercial point of contact for assigned accounts.
9. Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through proactive engagement.
10. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and changes in legislation affecting vehicle salvage and end-of-life vehicles (ELV).
11. Identify opportunities for expansion into new services, territories, or customer segments.
12. Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
13. Work closely with operations, compliance, and logistics teams to ensure commercially viable and deliverable solutions.
14. Support pricing strategies and contract negotiations.
15. Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
To be eligible for this position, you will need to have strong experience in a similar business development/sales representative capacity with a demonstrated success of winning and managing B2B contracts and a UK driving licence with minimal points, given you will often be working remotely. Previous experience within the vehicle salvage, automotive recycling, accident management, or wider automotive sector would be desirable but is non-essential. Overall, you will have the ability to effectively engage and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, with proven experience in creating strategies and managing activities to grow and develop businesses. You will have a practical level of business financial awareness to provide valued input and insight, at an operational level and recognise areas of risk and opportunity.
