Wood Process & Energy is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to support our project with Centrica Storage Limited (CSL), based in Hull on a contract basis.
It has been 18 months since Centrica Energy Storage+ and Wood entered into a collaborative partnership to deliver projects to support Centrica Energy Storage with their near & long-term strategic objectives. The partnership is going from strength to strength and Wood is looking to recruit a number of new positions due to the increasing workload. Wood is looking to recruit additional personnel across all Project, Engineering, and Project Control disciplines at various levels. We are committed to growing a local delivery team so we are particularly keen to hear from resources local to the Humber / Lincolnshire area. Hybrid working is supported and relocation packages are available where appropriate.
This is a key role that encompasses the management of others for the quality and timely delivery of the work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. In addition, the role requires a level of cost-estimating experience and a working knowledge of both AACE and ACCE tools and best practices.
The responsibilities for this role can vary considerably depending on the scope and size of the Project, a mixture of onshore and offshore experience across the sectors identified is essential. The typical responsibilities are shown below.
1. A strong and developed sense of health and safety within the working environment and in the design process
2. Contribute and participate in the maintenance of safe working practices and the assessment and mitigation of safety issues through effort and reviews in design
3. Lead multi-discipline work packages in accordance with the requirements of quality and environmental management systems qualified to ISO standards
4. Be able to manage work scope and interfaces between all engineering disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work packages
5. Act as a focal point for discipline leads for multi-discipline issues that require expediting or resolution
6. Organise, attend, chair, contribute, and prepare reports for safety reviews and other multidiscipline meetings
7. Collate actions and expedite the closure of the outstanding actions with appropriate design disciplines
8. Good working knowledge of, standards, specifications, and procedures
9. Understand project execution and work sequences, relating this to schedule and budget; managing and reporting against these, maintaining the highest level of quality in deliverables and activities
10. Understand, control, and forecast work area activities against schedule and deliverables at a work division and individual basis
11. Integration of design schedule to procurement and/or fabrication schedules
12. Be competent in Design Verification; highlight areas of concern and can affect corrective actions; able to supervise others
13. Prepare and check the scope of work specifications, project procedures, and project reports
14. Approval of deliverables delegated by the Project Manager or Engineering Manager
15. To monitor and review engineering progress with Project Services and Engineering disciplines
16. To review engineering budgets and performance and initiate control measures including adjustments to manning levels
17. To monitor receipt and review cycle for vendor documents and identify any problem areas
18. To represent engineering at Procurement status meetings
19. To assist with the development of Design Change Notices
20. To assist with the development of, and approval of, Engineering Queries
21. To assist with responses to site queries
22. Able to fulfill the role of Engineering Coordinator on small to medium-sized project

Who we are looking for:
27. Recognized Qualification in an engineering discipline
28. Preferable chartered engineer and member of a recognized institution
29. Relevant proven experience in multidiscipline engineering management within engineering and procurement projects for the oil and gas industry
