We have a varied estate including historic town halls, museums, offices, investment properties and community assets. As the Energy Manager, you will be responsible for the strategy, operational management and safe compliance of the organisation's property sustainability plans by maximising resource and investment, whilst exploring new opportunities to improve performance and effectiveness. You will take a leading role in energy management across the Council s operational and commercial properties. You will contribute to the Council s response to Climate Change by reducing the impact on the environment through carbon reduction, environmental compliance and reducing consumption of natural resources. You will lead on the development and delivery of a sustainable approach to managing and maintaining all of the Council s operational buildings and act as the Council s champion in our response to meeting energy targets. About You We are seeking an experienced professional who can help us reduce our use of energy and water and support our 2030 ambition. The postholder must have excellent knowledge of energy management, including the proactive monitoring, control and optimisation of energy consumption, in order to contribute to the reduction of consumption, costs, and environmental impact of day-to-day activities. A good understanding of legislative requirements and a working knowledge of building services is required. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline or be able to demonstrate relevant work experience at the appropriate technical and strategic level linked to sustainability, energy and water management, carbon reduction and decarbonisation.
