We are currently looking to hire Clinical Laboratory Analysts within our team based in Antrim. The successful candidate will be conducting rapid onsite testing for multiple Point of Care clinical and / or molecular tests. Responsible for the processing of Blood and other samples from Randox Health or third-party clinics.
Location: 30 Randalstown Rd, Antrim BT41 4LH.
Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent.
Working Hours / Shifts: 4 on, 4 off: 6pm to 6am and 6am to 6pm alternating shift pattern. (Night shift allowance given)
What does this role involve?
This role is responsible for routine clinical testing in our laboratory. The main duties of the role include:
1. Routine use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMs).
2. The performance of various analytical procedures including various manual screening and automated methods covering a wide variety of clinical diagnostic tests.
3. The preparation and handling of samples and diagnostic reagents.
4. The operation of various automated analytical systems such as Rx Daytona Plus, Rx Imola and Siemens Immulite XPi.
5. The accurate maintenance of analytical records.
6. Strict adherence to chain of custody procedures throughout the analytical process.
7. The routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation.
8. The preparation of specimens for transportation to ensure that their stability is safeguarded during shipment to the appropriate analytical laboratory.
9. Recording and Monitoring of temperature for Laboratory and Equipment.
10. Perform troubleshooting on technical issues associated with Clinical Diagnostic Testing.
11. Ensuring that all the necessary Quality Control checks are completed daily and that they meet internal criteria.
12. Participation in Quality Audits.
Essential:
13. Minimum 1 year laboratory-based experience as Scientist or a Lab Analyst.
14. Qualified to at least degree level in Biochemistry or a life science.
15. Demonstrable experience of working with strong attention to detail.
16. Able to undertake both days and night shift patterns (more info above)
17. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
18. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
19. Practical experience using automated analysers.
20. Experience in a private healthcare setting.
21. Working knowledge of quality systems
22. Working knowledge of Health and Safety, including CoSHH.
