We are looking for a confident and professional MOT Tester / Receptionist to join our growing, customer-focused garage in Bedford. This is a stable, full-time role ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and customer interaction, all within a friendly, well-run service centre.

Your Role – MOT Tester / Receptionist
MOT Tester Responsibilities (50%)
* Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA regulations
* Perform vehicle inspections and basic diagnostics
* Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards
* Identify required repairs and advise customers clearly
* Maintain accurate digital MOT and vehicle records
* Work efficiently within workshop schedules
Reception / Front-of-House Responsibilities (50%)
* Welcome customers and handle enquiries in person and by phone
* Book MOTs, servicing, and repairs using garage management software
* Manage workshop diary and coordinate job flow
* Process payments, invoices, and job cards
* Communicate vehicle findings, costs, and timescales professionally
* Support general admin tasks to keep operations running smoothly
Candidate Requirements
* Fully qualified MOT Tester with a valid DVSA licence
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Comfortable using computers and garage management software
* Professional, reliable, and well-organised
* Confident dealing with customers face-to-face and over the phone
* Enjoys a varied dual role combining technical and customer-facing duties
