Critical Care Technician

An exciting new opportunity has been created within the Department of Critical Care requiring the expert skill and knowledge of a highly experienced Critical Care Technician. The successful candidate will have a key role in developing and expanding the role in the future. You will be working in an extremely busy 22-bedded Critical Care Unit alongside a friendly and highly motivated multi‑disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be assisting the anaesthetic team with procedures such as intubations and line insertions. You will also have the responsibility for teaching both nursing and junior medical staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that equipment stock levels are maintained and for ensuring the maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications & Training
* City and Guilds 752/NVQ level 3/Diploma in Operating Department Practice or RGN with anaesthetic or critical care qualification
* ILS
* HCPC/NMC registered
* Health‑related degree
* ALS
Experience & Knowledge
* Extensive post‑registration experience in operating services or within a speciality
* Competent to assist with a range of invasive procedures
* Experience transferring critically ill patients within and between hospitals
* Evidence of learning and development in line with HCPC/NMC requirements
* Experience working within a Critical Care environment
