Responsibilities
* Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily operations, ensuring effective maintenance and repair of all hotel assets.
* Manage the Engineering & Maintenance team to uphold safety, functionality, and guest satisfaction across the property.
* Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
* Drive performance and efficiency within the Engineering team through coaching and motivation.
* Champion the hotel's fire safety program, ensuring readiness of all safety equipment and compliance with local regulations.
* Act as the department’s Training Champion, coordinating regular technical and safety training sessions.
* Enforce strict adherence to safe work practices and BizSAFE Level 3 standards for staff and external contractors.
* Propose and implement energy and resource conservation initiatives to support the hotel’s sustainability goals.
* Oversee troubleshooting and maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety, building, and environmental codes.
* Liaise with external vendors, service providers, consultants, architects, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably within hotels, building facilities, or construction maintenance.
* Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
* Collaborative team player with a hands-on, proactive approach to operations.
