Newly Qualified Adult Staff Nurse

We welcome applications from student nurses who arecurrently in their 3rd year of training within 6 months of qualifying.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated and enthusiasticnewly qualified Band 5 Nurses to join our various wards departments and teamsthroughout our integrated trust.
We have Full Time, Part Time, Fixed Term Contracts.

During your preceptorship you will have access to:
2 weeks supernumerary period at the point of registration.
Allocated time for development of knowledge and skills whichwill consist of :
Participatory continuing professional development contactstudy days and eLearning linked to the your PDP
Monthly meetings with your preceptor to discuss yourdevelopment and progress in relation to your area of work
3 monthly meetings with your manager for furtherguidance and support
Main duties of the job
Toassess patients needs and develop, implement and evaluateprogrammes of care
To organise the delivery of nursing care, deploying staffeffectively
To be aware of, and communicate to team members, changes topatient information and treatment plans, both verbally and in writing
To adhere to NMC standards of record keeping
To assist the Ward Sister in setting, monitoring andmaintaining standards of care
To participate in nursing audit and service improvementactivities eg Essence of Care
To be aware of resource constraints and the importance ofworking within budget
To provide advice and act as role model to other members ofthe team
To be proactive in managing risk and maintaining patientsafety
To supervise the work of nursing support staff, ensuringtasks undertaken have been delegated appropriately
To contribute to the day-to-day management of theDirectorate, co-operating with colleagues to provide an appropriate level ofnursing service and to address bed management issues
To participate in education and training of junior staff
To involve patients/carers in the planning and delivery ofcare
To participate in clinical supervision
To assist in resolving conflict and defus
About us

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
