Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Current HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
2. BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
Desirable criteria
3. Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development (CPD) and commitment to maintaining professional competence.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
4. Post‑qualification experience in diagnostic imaging, including competency in general radiography and experience of acute and elective imaging.
5. Evidence of formal or in‑house training and current clinical experience in at least one advanced imaging modality, e.g. CT, MRI, Cardiac Catheter Laboratories or Interventional/Angiography.
6. Demonstrable understanding of IR(ME)R, clinical governance, health and safety, infection prevention and safeguarding responsibilities.
7. Experience of working autonomously within a clinical imaging environment, demonstrating the ability to prioritise workload, manage conflicting demands and make appropriate clinical decisions in a busy acute setting.
Desirable criteria
8. Experience across more than one advanced imaging modality (e.g. CT and MRI, or CT and Interventional/Angiography).
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
9. Experience of supporting, supervising or teaching junior staff, assistant practitioners and/or students in a clinical environment.
10. Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while delivering patient‑centred care.
