RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a textile machinery business who are seeking an experience Bookkeeper & Stores/Spares Administratorto join their long-established, small family-run businessbased inWilmslow, Cheshire.The role has arisen due to theretirement of our long-standing bookkeeperand offers an excellent opportunity for anexperienced and self-confident individuallooking for astable, long-term positionwithin a traditional business environment.The role is suited to someone who is self-motivated comfortableworking independently, taking responsibility, and maintainingestablished systems and ways of working, rather than driving change or rapid modernisation.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and overseeing store and spares inventory.Competent and confident use of Sage Accounting software is essential.This is apermanent, position, suitable for someone seekingcontinuity, trust and long-term involvementwithin a small, supportive team.The role will involve:Managing accounts payable and receivable using recognised accounting software, primarily Sage AccountingReconciling bank statements and maintaining accurate financial recordsProcessing invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims efficientlyCredit control and credit chasing as requiredOverseeing stock levels and stock management within the warehouse and spares operationProcessing, ordering and physically managing goods in and out, packing/wrapping and goods despatchBooking deliveries and arranging despatch of goods to customersRecording incoming stock deliveries and updating inventory recordsOrganising stores documentation and maintaining orderly records of spares and suppliesAssisting with month-end reporting and supporting preparation of year-end financial informationEnsuring compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulationsLiaising with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and paymentsExperience & AttributesProven experiencein bookkeeping or accounts administration within a small or medium-sized businessStrong, practical experience using Sage Accounting software (essential)Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting systems is also an advantageSound understanding of accounts payable, receivable and basic inventory managementSelf-confident and self-motivated, able to work without close supervisionHighly organised with the ability to manage own workload and prioritiesStrong attention to detail and accuracy in record keepingClear and professional communication skillsComfortable working in atraditional office environmentwith established processesLooking for along-term role, not a short-term or stepping-stone positionPrevious experience in a family-run or traditional business environment desirable but not essentialThis role is best suited to someone who values stability, consistency and being a trusted part of a small team, rather than rapid career progression.
