Operates within the hospitality, heritage, and tourism sectors Manages complex financial processes, including statutory compliance and management reporting Emphasises innovation, teamwork, and professional development Supports a high-profile, digitally-driven environment THE ROLE As an Assistant Accountant, you will be supporting the day-to-day financial operations for a multi-site visitor attraction. Your key responsibilities will include preparing monthly management accounts, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and delivering financial reporting accuracy. Your work will contribute to the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organisation. Prepare and support the delivery of management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset management Assist in month-end closing procedures and compliance with reporting schedules Support credit control and cash flow management to optimise liquidity Contribute to statutory reporting and VAT returns Support internal controls, audit readiness, and maintain financial controls and policies Analyse financial data and produce insights for management review and stakeholder reporting THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We're seeking candidates with relevant financial experience, strong organisational skills, and a passion for accuracy and compliance. Mandatory: Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance administration or accounting support AAT Part Qualified or similar qualification Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced level) and Word Ability to work effectively with bespoke IT systems and data analysis tools Preferred: Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, or Oracle Knowledge of UK VAT Exposure to automation and digital transformation projects in finance Previous experience within heritage, hospitality, or visitor attractions Ability to generate insights using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools Experience in management accounting, budgeting, or forecasting in similar environments ON OFFER This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a unique cultural venue while honing your finance skills.
