The Radiology department in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr is seeking to recruit a Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer to join the team in the General X-ray department. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake a full range of diagnostic radiographs for both in-patients and out-patients.
Following an appropriate induction period, participation in the out-of-hours shift system will be expected. Rotation to other X-ray departments within the HB may also be required. The department's friendly atmosphere and status as a training centre for student Radiographers make it an ideal environment for those looking to develop and enhance their diagnostic imaging skills, with potential to rotate through specialised modalities later in their careers.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform radiographic examinations.
2. Provide high-quality, efficient radiographic services to all patients.
3. Manually handle patients and equipment with appropriate training.
4. Familiarise with RIS and PACS systems and clinical workstations.
5. Understand departmental procedures and practices.
6. Observe duty of care when operating equipment.
7. Undertake surveys or audits related to the role.
8. Participate in out-of-hours services as required.
9. Maintain equipment and report faults or breakdowns.
10. Maintain knowledge of current radiographic techniques and departmental equipment.
It is essential that you are a good communicator and team player, capable of working independently in all general areas of the department. Evidence of commitment to CPD and participation in departmental CPD sessions, both online and practical, is expected.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.
