Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of HSEQ strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
* Conduct and review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), ensuring effective controls are implemented and communicated.
* Investigate incidents, near misses, and non‑conformances, providing thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Monitor and report on HSEQ performance metrics, identifying trends and driving continual improvement.
* Coordinate and deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote awareness and competency across the workforce.
* Oversee contractor management processes, emergency preparedness, and statutory inspections (e.g. LOLER, PUWER, LEV, Legionella, Fire Safety, DSEAR).
* Support environmental and sustainability initiatives, including waste management, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction targets.
* Maintain and improve the quality management system, coordinating internal audits and management reviews.
* Represent the business during external audits, client meetings, and regulatory inspections.
* Promote a proactive HSEQ culture through visible leadership, engagement, and collaboration across teams.
Key Competencies And Experience
* Proven experience in an HSEQ leadership role within an operational, engineering, or technical environment.
* Strong working knowledge of ISO management systems (45001, 14001, and 9001) and regulatory compliance requirements.
* Skilled in conducting audits, inspections, and investigations with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
* Confident communicator able to influence at all levels and build positive relationships across departments.
* Experience developing and delivering effective HSEQ training and awareness programmes.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive performance.
* Demonstrated commitment to embedding safety, quality, and sustainability in day‑to‑day operations.
* Leadership capability to coach, mentor, and support colleagues within the HSEQ function and wider business.
