Post No. POSN004080 - Residential Childcare Assistant Home Manager Newport City Council is expanding its residential care leadership team and is seeking three dedicated Assistant Home Managers to join our children's residential services across Newport and Raglan. Our Homes We are developing smalls homes, dedicated to providing individualised care for one or two young people. We are looking for assistant managers who are motivated to work in this rewarding yet challenging role. The successful candidates will be committed to delivering trauma informed care and leading a team to use attachment-based parenting strategies. You will become part of a team providing a stimulating, nurturing environment to enable our children to reach their full potential. About The Role As an Assistant Home Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operation, leadership, and development of the home. You will ensure that children and young people receive exceptional care, stability, and support. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the day to day running of the home. - Provide supervision, coaching, and leadership to staff. - Coordinate staff rotas and manage resource planning. - Monitor budgets and contribute to financial oversight. - Ensure practice aligns with the home's Statement of Purpose. - Promote a safe, nurturing, and aspirational environment for young people. - Lead on risk assessment and independent decision making. - Implement systems and procedures that promote positive outcomes. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: - Resilient and reflective, with a commitment to trauma informed practice. - Motivated and conscientious, with strong organisational skills. - QCF Level 3 qualified in Health & Social Care with a willingness to work towards level 5 - Confident in leading a team and making independent decisions. - Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with complex needs. - Able to work flexibly and proactively in a dynamic environment.
