Job Overview:
The Arm on Arm team drives the move to Arm-based platforms for all the compute used at Arm in the delivery of our business, whether that is in our engineering compute clusters, enterprise workflows, or on colleagues' laptops. We have the remit to do whatever is needed to make that migration happen, including working with partners in the supply chain across software vendors, hardware companies, and cloud operators; ensuring our internal IT systems provide access to Arm-based compute; and helping individual teams within the company migrate their specific use cases to Arm. We also collaborate with the Lines of Business to ensure that our work supports our ecosystem partners.
Responsibilities:
* Be the first point of contact for technical queries from partners, especially EDA software vendors, regarding porting code or services to Arm. Resolve these queries, potentially over an extended period.
* Diagnose problems, identify compatibility or performance issues, and resolve them as appropriate. Recent examples include:
* Identifying bugs in network protocols of storage filers
* Investigating performance regressions and developing solutions
* Assessing floating point math consistency across architectures
Required Skills and Experience:
* Problem-solving ability and commitment to achieving solutions
* Programming expertise across system and application levels, particularly in C
* Software optimization techniques
* Experience with benchmarking to generate robust performance measurements
* IT infrastructure knowledge: TCP/IP, DHCP & DNS, data center configuration
Nice To Have Skills and Experience:
* Understanding of the EDA landscape and experience with related tools
* Knowledge of Neoverse micro-architectures
* Linux Kernel internals
* IT Service operations experience
