We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Central Accounting team at Greggs as a Financial Accountant (Colleague Reward).
You will be responsible for controlling all of our reward and payroll-related accounting and supporting the People team to consider the financial implications of reward decisions, assess the impact of changing legislation, and manage costs.

About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
18. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
19. The base location for this role is Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8BU
What you'll do
20. Monthly accounting for all payroll-related costs (PAYE, NIC, pensions, loans, cycle 2 work, travel expenses, charities etc.)
21. Monthly accounting for reward-related costs (share options, SAYE, SIP)
22. Preparing the annual budget and regular forecasting in relation to the above areas
23. Support the management of share option, SAYE and SIP schemes, liaising with the share scheme administrator, People and Legal teams as appropriate. Includes calculation of grant prices, vesting outcomes, scalebacks etc.
24. Accounting and control of share option schemes, including tax returns and Employee Benefit Trust management
25. Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and review packs
26. Provide business partnering support to the People function
27. Contribute to the production of the Company’s annual Remuneration Report
28. Respond as required to the Company’s external and internal auditors
29. Support for statutory accounts preparation
30. Other support to the Finance team and rest of the business as required
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
31. Are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least three years post-qualified experience, with excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
32. Are an expert user of Microsoft Excel and confident in using other Microsoft products (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerBI)
33. Have a track record of forming and strengthening trusted relationships across functions and are confident at communicating key financial information to different audiences with the ability to influence decision making
34. Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales
35. Have good attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of information provided
36. Are self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and using own initiative to identify and implement process improvements
