About the Role:
A vibrant secondary school in South London is seeking an enthusiastic and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong commitment to supporting young people who may present with behavioural, emotional, or social challenges, helping them engage positively with learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted 1:1 and group support to students with behavioural or emotional needs.
* Act as a positive role model, building trust and promoting self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.
* Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment.
* Develop and implement tailored behaviour support strategies and intervention programmes.
* Work closely with pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external agencies to meet individual needs.
* Help students set personal goals and work towards achieving them, both academically and socially.
* Contribute to whole-school behaviour policies and promote a culture of respect and inclusion.
Requirements / Attributes:
* Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or mentoring capacity.
* Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, confident, and consistent approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Resilient, patient, and empathetic with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
* Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and adaptability.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., in youth work, education, psychology) are desirable but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS on the update system (or willingness to apply).
