The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary / multiagency team, the post holder will manage a specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire.

To contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity.

Contribute to the supervision, education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team.

Provide effective leadership within scope of role.

What we'll need you to bring

1. Registered Nurse or AHP with valid NMC / HCPC Registration
2. Educated to Degree Level
3. Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards
4. Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
6. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
7. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
9. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Effective time management skills
12. Working knowledge of basic information technology

It would be great if you also have

13. Prescribing level 10
14. Clinical decision making level 10
15. Anatomy and physiology
16. Consideration will be given If above not achieved must be fully committed to undertake above courses
17. Relevant expert practice in the specialty (Respiratory)
18. and current evidence of relevant continued professional development including study day/course/post graduate qualification
19. Evidence of recent personal contribution to service planning and redesign projects
20. Navigate current and new IT systems within NHSLs use
21. Ability to plan and organise workload within a busy service under direction of Job plan/ autonomously with in NHSL policies
22. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
23. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across professional boundaries and with all stakeholders
24. Ability to monitor effectiveness of own and others clinical practice through quality assurance strategies such as audit, peer review and clinical supervision
25. Awareness of the ability to work in accordance with relevant national and local healthcare policies
26. Undertake Specialist Clinics within NHSL policies/ knowledge/ skills ability
27. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence and access to a vehicle with insurance cover in line with NHSL policies

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Respiratory - Virtual Wards within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.

The working pattern for this role is 7 day working rota
