Senior Maintenance Technician in MAINT & ENG - HEAD OFFICE — Bank of England. This role is within the Property department's Infrastructure Engineering team, responsible for maintaining, enhancing and supporting the occupied building environment and providing engineering services for Bank staff.
Job Description
Senior Shift Technician responsibilities include: delivering planned preventative tasks via Planon IWMS, supporting reactive maintenance, updating tasks in IWMS, conducting daily and periodic building system checks, addressing engineering faults to maintain operations, performing routine maintenance across HVAC, electrical, public health and life safety systems, and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation. You will also support statutory testing of life safety systems, participate in incident management and recovery exercises, and work as an Authorized Person (HV/LV) to support 24/7 operations while adhering to Safe Systems of Work. You will complete training and participate in weekly on-call support and hand-overs.
Minimum Criteria
* Minimum City & Guilds Level 3 (or transferable) in a relevant engineering subject
* IOSH Operating Safely qualification
* Security Vetting to SC Clearance (provided by the Bank)
* Experience with IWMS planned and reactive maintenance tools using handheld HMI
* Experience operating and maintaining HVAC, BMS, Electrical, Public Health and Life Safety Systems
Essential Criteria
* Authorised Person experience at HV and LV system operation
* Experience operating with Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
* Knowledge of statutory and compliance obligations for engineering systems
* Ability to follow Standard and Emergency Operating Procedures (SOPs & EOPs)
* Ability to read complex mechanical, electrical, control and public health drawings
* Understanding of dependencies across building services and maintenance risks in operational buildings
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Ability to evaluate information, contribute to decision-making and continuous improvement
* Ability to share information and report findings
* Team collaboration and knowledge sharing
* Flexibility and effectiveness with a range of staff and contractors
* High standards in all work

Salary and Benefits
This role offers a salary of £37,260 - £41,400 per annum, plus a shift allowance of £8,000. Benefits include a career-average pension, discretionary performance award, an 8% benefits allowance, 26 days’ annual leave (with option to buy up to 12 days), private medical insurance and income protection.
National Security Vetting
