The post holder will provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to all age groups within the treatment room setting whilst working in partnership with other members of the primary health care team and service users.The post holder will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience to lead and enable the treatment room nursing teams to provide a quality nursing service.The post holder will be the clinical lead who will be accountable for the co-ordination of activities and staff within all treatment rooms in the LHCC.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

1. The role of the Treatment Room Nurse Co-ordinator will be based at Kirkintilloch Health & Care Centre
2. The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00

Key responsibilities:

The post holder is responsible and accountable for the ongoing management of the treatment rooms within the LHCC to ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. These will be developed in partnership with Patients, Family, Carers and Significant others, and will be evidence-based taking into consideration the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health.

As an experienced practitioner the post holder will perform a wide range of nursing interventions and investigations for patients attending the treatment rooms. Drawing on their clinical expertise the post holder will support patients, relatives and carers in order to achieve and maintain optimum health.

3. As part of the managerial responsibility the post holder will be familiar with and ensure implementation of local, regional and national policies, procedures and guidelines pertinent to all staff within their area of responsibility in the pursuit of the highest standard of patient care
4. The post holder will have an understanding of the clinical budget and its application in the planning and implementation of care in the area, in order to meet service aims and objectives
5. Although the post holder does not have the budgetary responsibility for the treatment room service it is his/her responsibility to maintain the notional allocated workforce resource or highlight any problems within the team
6. The post holder will manage and provide clinical leadership and be a role model for the nursing team by representing the values and beliefs of the nursing profession as well as that of the organisation
7. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the treatment room service and will ensure that the delegation of work to the team is appropriate to their scope of practice
8. The post holder will establish and participate in systems of clinical support and personal development plans for the nursing team, induct all new staff into the team and supervise junior staff in all areas of nursing practice
9. The post holder will prepare and/or validate the duty rotas, organise and support the team to attend staff meetings, clinical and mandatory training

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Essential

11. 1st Level Registration
12. Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience
13. Relevant post-registration qualification or equivalent experience
14. Evidence of continuing professional development
15. IT skills
16. Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
17. Ability to work to challenging deadlines
18. Ability to work on own initiative
19. Problem-solving skills
20. Leadership and Management skills
21. Ability to work as part of a team
22. Previous experience in primary care/community/clinic setting

23. Full Driving Licence
