The post holder will lead operations delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality, efficient service delivery, value for money, and adherence to technical and quality standards. This role directly impacts road safety outcomes and involves developing operational plans, managing performance, and fostering talent development. The Operations Manager will also liaise with the Policy & Service Heads, providing operational insights to support business improvements and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leadership: Providing influence, guidance, and a clear vision to staff, upholding integrity and the agency’s reputation.
2. Operational delivery: Overseeing vehicle testing across regional networks, ensuring service quality and consistency.
3. Standards and performance: Ensuring network delivery meets operational standards, quality expectations, and targets.
4. Communication: Maintaining effective engagement with staff and management teams.
5. Operational planning: Developing plans to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.
6. Continuous improvement: Driving improvements based on QA and audit feedback, adopting best practices.
7. Strategic development: Collaborating on business plans with relevant managers.
8. Service liaison: Acting as a key contact for specific services, providing operational expertise.
9. Customer needs: Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer requirements.
