We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Finance team as a Finance Manager. In this role, you will lead a small Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team while supporting the Finance Director in delivering an efficient, accurate, and compliant finance function. You will oversee key financial operations, ensure smooth month-end and reporting processes, and act as a trusted point of contact for colleagues across the organisation. The position plays a key role in ensuring financial integrity, streamlining processes, and providing reliable insights to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
Work Location/Hours
09:00 – 17:00, 35 Hours per week
Head Office; our current head office is in Moreton-in-Marsh, but we will be relocating to Pembroke House, Banbury Business Park in January 2026. In the interim, we will cover travel expenses for employees based in the Banbury area.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a small Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) team
* Serve as the go-to expert for procedural guidance, resolving inter-departmental queries, and promoting effective collaboration
* Support daily and month-end accounting processes, including audit requirements
* Prepare and post month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation) and maintain supporting schedules
* Reconcile month-end balances and bank accounts accurately and on time
* Oversee AR processes, ensuring overdue items are resolved swiftly to maximise cash flow
* Oversee AP processes, including supplier payment runs and handling supplier queries
* Manage financial and CRM imports, ensuring accuracy and integrity through regular checks
* Contribute to weekly financial reporting and analysis
* Assist in maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
* Support the Finance Director in producing monthly management accounts
* Contribute to the development of finance and office policies, as well as process improvements

Key Education and experience
Essential
* Qualified Accountant e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word
* Experience in managing and mentoring a small finance team
* Strong understanding of banking processes, procedures, and associated reconciliations
* In depth knowledge of Sales & Purchase Ledger and all associated processes, including credit control, reconciliations, including using Bank software for electronic payments
* Knowledge of accounting software systems
Desirable
* Knowledge of Synergist or similar project management/accounting software
* Knowledge of Xero
