2026 Graduate Programme - Property & Buildings - Building Services. We are looking for Graduates for our Building Services teams with a flexible approach and a desire to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. You will work in a collaborative environment with a diverse range of clients and projects.
Responsibilities
* Collaborating with external stakeholders.
* Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
* Drafting Mechanical or Electrical layouts, using Revit or AutoCAD and running calculations.
* Reviewing technical drawings and coordinating with other disciplines.
* Supporting Senior Engineers in preparing tender documents.
* Attending site visits to observe installations or conduct surveys.
* Participating in sustainability assessments (e.g. BREEAM).
Projects & Team Focus
Working as a Graduate in one of our Building Services teams means contributing to exciting projects such as large office buildings, hospitals, hotels, residential complexes, data centres and education buildings. Projects include notable settings like 1 Undershaft, 22 Bishopsgate, 40 Leadenhall, Fulham Football Club, Leeds Hospital of the Future programme, high-scale data centres, and Heathrow & Gatwick airport reconfigurations.
Our Building Services Teams
Building Services/MEP teams design people-centric, high-performance buildings and work across sectors including offices, retail, museums, education, residential, laboratories, healthcare facilities, transit hubs, airports and industrial facilities. Our teams aim to balance today’s needs with tomorrow’s ambitions and to innovate in every project.
Day-to-day Activities – Building Technology Systems
* Collaborating across WSP with specialists in MEP, Security, Lighting, ICT, and AV to develop holistic Smart Buildings solutions.
* Gathering requirements from stakeholders and clarifying client problems and desired outcomes.
* Designing and specifying technology implementations and documenting requirements for approval.
* Working with project stakeholders to develop client-aligned recommendations.
* Presenting work outputs to clients as part of project delivery and internal change management.
Day-to-day Activities – Energy & Sustainability
* Developing building simulation models to assess operational energy use and occupant comfort.
* Assessing and coordinating environmental design strategies to reduce energy use.
* Calculating Whole Life Carbon (WLC) impacts and identifying reduction opportunities.
* Applying Circular Economy principles in building design.
* Reviewing planning and regulatory requirements for energy use and carbon emissions.
* Assessing climate risk to building performance.
Future projects may include Heathrow and Gatwick expansion plans on the path to net zero, Stadia projects, healthcare facilities and other complex developments. You will be part of an enthusiastic team, working with internal and external stakeholders in dynamic environments.

What We Will Be Looking For
* You’ll have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. (Please refer to the Graduate brochure or website for specific areas of relevance.)
* Applicants must complete the application form in full and answer all questions. The online skill enabler assessment is also required.
* You’re expected to start work in September 2026.
* You’ll have a passion for Building Services or Technology Systems and a desire to contribute to the future of the built environment.
* You will research, learn and analyse technologies and operating processes, and have an awareness of specialist building systems (lighting, security).
* You’ll bring creativity and problem-solving drive and be ready to share new ideas.
